FSD performs preventive activities for storm disasters in various regions, states

 




THE Fire Services Department under the Ministry of Home Af­fairs is accelerating preventive activities for relief, rescue and first-aid operations in the event of a storm in various regions and states.

Preventive activities such as rehearsal exercises are be­ing conducted at fire brigades in Paukkhaung, Paungde, Thae­gon, and Shwedaung townships in Bago Region, Kyaikto, Kyaik­maraw, Chaungzon, Bilin, Maw­lamyine, Mudon, Ye, and Than­byuzayat in Mon State, Palaw, Bokpyin, Launglon, and Thay­etchaung townships in Tanin­thayi Region, Kyaukpyu and Sittway townships in Rakhine State, Dagon Myothit (East) and Shwepyitha townships in Yangon Region, and Myanaung and In­gapu townships in Ayeyawady Region. People in the respective townships, districts, regions, and states are being informed about the potential storm in order to be able to prevent damage that can be caused by it.

7==== Myanmar Navy Chief joins 17th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting online

THE delegation led by Com­mander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung joined the 17th ASE­AN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (17th ANCM) hosted by the Philippine Navy via videoconferencing yes­terday.

First, the Philippine Navy Vice-Admiral Toribio Dulinayan Adaci Jr made an opening speech. Then, the Navy chiefs approved the meeting minutes of the 16th ANCM and the per­manent joint secretary of ANCM briefed the regional maritime security.

The ASEAN Navy Chiefs exchanged views on the topic of Synergy at Sea: Regional Cohe­sion for Peace and Stability.

Admiral Moe Aung dis­cussed the chances and challeng­es of ASEAN as it is a strategic location of sea trade, the role of ASEAN Centrality, effective uses of different advantages of ASEAN navies, trust building through cooperation while overcoming challenges, ASEAN to implement activities without external inter­ference standing at Driving Role and promote the maritime peace and stability through cooperation respecting the sovereignty of the countries.

Then, the Navy Chiefs fo­cused on the 9th ASEAN Navy Young Officers’ Interaction (AN­YOI) hosted by Brunei Navy in 2022, the 18th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) Plus Experts Working Group on Maritime Security and Tabletop Exercises 2023 hosted by Thai Navy and ASEAN Cadet Seminar and AESAN Cadet Sail and 10th ANYOI 2023 hosted by Indonesia Navy.

The Indonesia Navy dis­cussed ANCM Road Map 2024- 2032 while Alternate Conduct of ASEAN Multilateral Naval Ex­ercises (AMNEX) and ANCM Guidelines for Maritime Interac­tion (GMI) Workshop and Draft by the Philippine Navy. They also discussed joint naval exercises to be conducted in 2023.

Then, they discussed the estimated timetable and video clips to hold the 18th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting-18th ANCM in Myanmar.
