Authorities inspect natural disaster prevention training, storage of rescue and support equipment

 



THE low-pressure area that is forming in the southeast of the Bay of Bengal and the adja­cent Andaman Sea is gradually strengthening and may become a cyclone, and according to the forecasts, it can enter Myanmar. Emergency management exer­cises on rescue and rehabilita­tion tasks are currently being carried out in various regions and states to prepare for the potential natural disaster and ensure effective relief efforts and cooperation.

Military personnel practise rehearsal with members of the police, fire brigades, red cross, social rescue groups and locals at the Township stadium of Nam­seng, Mongpan, Mongnaung and Mongshu in Shan State (South) and basic education middle school in Sittway Township in Rakhine State.

In addition, in the event of a natural disaster, disaster relief teams are preparing in advance to be able to provide assistance and rescue operations, prepar­ing storm protection buildings (Cyclone Shelter), and arrange­ments are being made to ensure that five types of food and drink­ing water are sufficient in the respective areas.

Yangon Region Chief Min­ister U Soe Thein, Yangon Com­mand Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein and officials inspected the preparation for the natural disas­ter at People’s Square in Dagon Township.

Furthermore, the coordina­tion meeting of the Natural Dis­aster Management group in Chin State was held at the meeting hall of the Chin State Govern­ment office. Chin State Chief Min­ister Dr Wong Hsun Htan gave an opening speech and then fulfilled the requirements presented by the attendees.
