MORE than 200 eye patients will be admitted to undergo surgery treatment free of cost at the Sitagu Sakkudana Eye Hospital in Dagon Myothit (North) Township.
Examinations and surgical operations were made for eye patients from Dagon Myothit (North) Township from 5 to 10 April at the Sitagu Sakkudana Eye Hospital. As of 8 April, over 1,200 eye patients have been examined and 207 are set to have surgical treatment.
On the first day of treatment on 5 April, a total of 344 patients received examinations and treatment and 96 others underwent surgical operations. All patients were provided with food donations. Surgeries were made for 19 eye patients on 7 and 8 April. The majority who came for surgical treatment are cataract and glaucoma patients.
Currently, the Sitagu International Buddhist Missionary Association (SIBMA) opened 45 Sitagu Sakkudana eye hospitals in states and regions and provided eye surgical treatment for 250,000 patients.
