Paritta recitation, rice offering, fingerling releasing, respect paying to the aged held in Mandalay

 

MANDALAY Region government organized the Paritta recitation, meal offering, rice offering, releasing fingerlings and paying respects to older persons above 90 at the city hall and in front of the hall of Mandalay City Development Committee yesterday morning.

Member of the State Administration Council U Maung Ko and wife, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and wife donated cash and kind donated by Mandalay Region government to members of the Sangha through Salin Vibhajjavadi Sayadaw and then offered dawn meals to members of the Sangha.

The SAC member and wife, officials and local people offered dry rations and alms to 108 members of the Sangha and then released 30,000 fingerlings into the water in the moat.

Led by the Mandalay Region government, the SAC member and wife paid respect and donated cash to the older persons above 90 from seven townships at the city hall.

In the evening, the Mandalay Region chief minister and party listened to Parittas and Antarayika Kammava recited by members of the Sangha and donated alms at the regional government office.
