Coord meeting held for Walking Thingyan in Nay Pyi Taw

THE coordinating meeting for organizing Walking Thingyan in Nay Pyi Taw was held yesterday.

First, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn in his capacity as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan said arrangements are being made to hold Nay Pyi Taw Thingyan on a grand scale by cooperating with the Nay Pyi Taw Council. Measures are being taken to make the Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan like the ones held in Yangon and Mandalay. The festival aims at civilians as well as departmental staff and their families. It will include Thanaka Thingyan, Ethnic People’s Thingyan, Youths’ Game Thingyan and so on.

Then, Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, who is also vicechair of the committee, said the council will participate in holding the Walking Thingyan with its own Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee Pavilion this year.

Next, Committee Secretary Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, the Project Director of Brilliant Aura Co Ltd and Coordinator for the Walking Thingyan Deputy Director-General of MRTV U Myo Myint Aung reported on preparations for the Walking Thingyan and locations of pandals of ministries concerned.

The vice mayor, attendees and officials of the Subcommittee also discussed security measures, access to water, electricity, regulatory matters and healthcare services.
