Message from U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Mr Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federation

IT is with immense pleasure that I extend my warmest congratulations and sincere wishes to Your Excellency on the momentous occasion of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federation, which falls on 18 February 2023.

Myanmar and the Russian Federation have maintained and cherished long-standing cordial relations and close cooperation over the past seventy-five years. It is also a matter of profound satisfaction that Myanmar and Russia enjoy close collaboration in regional and international frameworks, including ASEAN, ASEM and the United Nations.

As we celebrate the diamond jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic ties, I look forward to enhancing our coordination and cooperation in bilateral, regional, and multilateral contexts in the years ahead to serve the interests of our two nations and peoples. On this note, I express my willingness to make joint efforts with Your Excellency to consolidate the friendly and cooperative relations between our two ministries and countries.
