SUPERVISED by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, effective action is being taken against offenders to prevent illicit trade under the law.
An
on-duty team under the supervision of the customs Department made inspection at
the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint on 3 December. Officials found
home electronic accessories and industrial materials worth K242.05 million that
were not matched the Import Declaration (ID). Action was taken under the
Customs Procedures.
Similarly, a combined inspection team under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force of Kayin State made inspections at the Kawkareik (Tadakyo) checkpoint. They found ten rolls of textile worth K2.5 million, which were not declared in the ID and action was taken under the Customs Procedures.
Furthermore, a combined team led by Customs Department under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force of Mandalay Region made inspections. They found 340 cartons of Singha Beer which were without customs declaration, worth K16.32 million near Milepost No 21/3 on Mandalay-PyinOoLwin road and action was taken under the Customs Procedure.And then, an on-duty team under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force of Sagaing Region inspected at Kyweye combined checkpoint of Monywa and officials found a Toyota Mark II, without licence, worth K5 million and action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
Therefore, five cases at an estimated value of K265.87 million were taken action on 3 December, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
