VICE-CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win addressed the meeting of the scrutinizing body for awarding titles and medals of honour for 2023 held at the meeting hall of the SAC Chairman yesterday afternoon.
In his address, the Deputy Prime
Minister said that responsible personnel are required to make a systematic
choice for awarding titles and medals to those who delivered an extraordinary
performance in building the nation, soldiers and policemen who sacrificed lives
and limbs for the sake of national peace and stability and rule of law and
public servants.
He added that there will be 12
categories of titles and medals to be awarded to people from all fields and all
spheres of life and the list of those who deserve to be awarded will be
announced on the diamond jubilee Independence Day which falls on 4 January
2023.
Moreover, he said, titles and
medals will be given to civil servants who were killed or injured in carrying
out their duties following the guidance of the SAC Chairman and Prime Minister,
soldiers and policemen for their bravery and government employees who did
outstanding performance in their respective fields.
The Deputy Prime Minister continued
to say that honouring those to whom honour is due is following the 38
principles for the beatific life, sermon given by the Lord Buddha, and it is
necessary to make careful scrutiny so that civil servants and security forces
who gave their lives in carrying out their respective work are not left out.
All those responsible personnel
present at the meeting put forward reports and suggestions to the Deputy Prime
Minister and he coordinated the reports and suggestions and gave necessary
advice on them. Then, he delivered the concluding remarks and the meeting came
to a close.
