Bago Region Chief Minister meets oil millers for edible oil sector development



OILSEEDS such as peanuts, sorghum and cassava are essen­tial for the production of surplus essential oil, which is essential for basic food security and ses­ame, and sunflowers are being expanded, said Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.

Efforts are being made to plant more oilseeds and sunflow­ers next winter, the Chief Minister added.

He was speaking at a meeting with oil millers on the develop­ment of the edible oil sector in the Bago Region on the morning of 8 July at the Royal Han Thar Con­ference Hall of the Bago Region Government Office.

Next, the chief minister said that oil millers should make ar­rangements to grind oil mills at full capacity to be able to grind large quantities of oil crops from the region.

Then, the regional director of the Region Consumer Affairs Department explained the oil production and production in the region.

The regional minister for Economy further clarified the arrangements for the supply of domestic oil and the efficiency of oil refineries.

Next, officials discussed elec­tricity access in the Bago Region, registration of oil refineries, dis­tribution of post-harvest technol­ogies, strengthening the market for domestically produced edible oil, improvement of oil refineries and the development of scientific farming methods.

The regional level officials clarified the matter and the Chief Minister of the region coordinat­ed.
