CBM Governor joins coordination meeting of ASEAN Central Bank Governors and CEOs of financial organizations online

 

GOVERNOR of Central Bank of Myanmar U Than Nyein attended the coordination meeting of ASEAN Central Bank Governors and CEOs of financial organizations via videoconferencing yesterday.

During the meeting, ASEAN alternative Chairman Mr Chea Chanto, Governor of Cambodian National Bank, made an opening remark and other chairpersons of banks made greeting speeches.

The ASEAN Banks Association discussed “Interoperable Data Framework & ASEAN QR Cross-Border Payments”. At the same time, Banks Association in Cambodia about “the Digital Connectivity Enhancement across the ASEAN Member States”, and the officials coordinated the discussion.

Then, CBM Governor U Than Nyein discussed the vital role of the ASEAN Banking Interoperable Data Framework, safe banking businesses in ASEAN member countries, supportive action of “Digital Connectivity Enhancement across the ASEAN Member States” in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, QR Code Payment of Myanmar, organizing of Technical Committee to develop Myanmar Standard of QR Code, launching of MMQR Specification Version (1.0), the needs to follow MMQR Standard, Digital Payment Switch to connect QR Code Payments and other financial integration with region countries.

Finally, Governor Mr Chea Chanto of the National Bank of Cambodia concluded the meeting after the closing remark.
