THE arrest of 50 terrorists who perpetrated terrorist acts in Yangon under the instruction of CRPH and NUG terrorist groups, including NLD party member and leader of the terrorist activities Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo Zeyar Thaw, together with weapons, ammunition and related explosive items, was published on 20 November. His support on weapons/ammunition supplies to commit acts of violence in Yangon was published on 22 November.
According to his statement, PDF
terrorists, named Aung Ko Latt, Thet Paing Htwe, Aung Ko Ko, Chit Ko Ko Thant,
Wai Yan Tun, Shein Wai Moe, Saw Vital Ko Ko, Lwin Lwin Tun, Tay Zar Lin (a) Ote
Kyi, Soe Myat Shwe, Sa Zin Aung, Zin Min Tun (a) Sati, Shin Thant Hein, Nay Myo
Tun, Hein Min Latt, Win Thinzar, were arrested on 18, 19 and 20 November
respectively.
Perpetrator Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo
Zeyar Thaw was born on 26 March 1981 in Yangon. He got his bachelor degree in
English from the Yadanabon University in 2003 and worked as an artist (singer).
He was sentenced to six years in prison for forming an illegal association and
holding illegal money but was released on State pardon in 2011.
He joined the NLD party in 2012 and
in the by-election, he contested as the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative for
Zabuthiri Township from the NLD party and won. He served as a confidant of Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi and was closely involved in her domestic and international
travels and in campaigns.
According to his statement, he has been
leading violent protests in Yangon since February 2021. Since April, he has
connected with Ye Mon, Zaw Wai Soe, Lwin Ko Latt from the NUG and acted as the
in-charge of Yangon Region and cooperated with De Nyein Linn (a) Day Wa, Wai
Phyo Han (a) Naung Yoe. He organized Zoom meetings and discussed matters
related to attending explosive and terrorist training in the KNLA Brigade Area
(6), supporting weapons and ammunition, acts of terror and attacking security
forces, setting a D-Day to fight against the Government, and funding.
It was revealed that Naing Htoo Aung funded
Yan Naing, a commander of the KNLA Brigade Area (6), and had him organized terrorist
training to extremist young people who supported NLD party near Kawkareik
Township and Phayathonezu. Short-term trainees were recruited as STF terrorist
group; Long-term trainees became PDF terrorists, and those who attended
refresher course were formed as SOF terrorist group. Terrorist acts were
committed in Yangon with these groups and township terrorist groups which were
formed with strong NLD party supporters.
According to the statement of Maung
Kyaw (a) Phyo Zeyar Thaw, NUG terrorist group formed PDF terrorist groups in
July. Ye Mon has become the incharge of the North PDF terrorist group and East
PDF terrorist group. Lwin Ko Latt has become the in-charge of the South PDF
terrorist group and Nay Myo has become the in-charge of the Middle PDF terrorist
group. They all perpetrated terrorist acts to disrupt the governance of the
State Government and to intimidate the public.
Under the instruction of Lwin Ko
Latt and Kun Min, Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo Zeyar Thaw and De Nyein Lin (a) Day Wa
has become the joint heads of the STF and PDF terrorist groups. Wai Phyo Han
(a) Naung Yoe became the in-charge of the Yangon Region Pa-Ka-Pha terrorist
group. PK became the incharge of SOF terrorist group. Kyaw Swar (a) Ant Kyaw
became the in-charge of the Information Team.
According to the statement of Maung Kyaw (a)
Phyo Zeyar Thaw, members of NUG terrorist group Ye Mon and Lwin Ko Latt
connected Naing Htoo Aung, PK, Wai Phyo Han (a) Naung Yoe with the KNU group
and transported weapons and ammunition and explosives from
Theinzayat-Waw-Thanatpin-Tarwa through Bago River and from Thayatpin Chaung to
Yangon. The weapons, ammunition and explosives were then transported through
Myawady-Theinzayat-Yangon by vehicles. In Yangon, Zin Oo Maung (a) Nay La and
Tay Zar Lin (a) Ote Kyi received them and stored them separately at No 67,
Thukhita street, 29 ward, Thingangyun and at No 142, Ngwe Tite Soe Compound,
Phyi Thar Yar lane (2), (Za) North ward.
Hit list was made to kill
ward/village administrators, civil servants, members of USDP party and other
opposing party members, and innocent civilians, and the lists were submitted to
the NUG. Weapons/ ammunition were issued to assassination groups according to
the missions given by the NUG. A total of 30 explosions at government offices,
32 explosions at ward administration offices, nine explosions near the
electricity office, nine explosions near KaNya-Na office, 12 explosions at
traffic control rooms, five explosions on CCTV Control Box, 60 explosions in
public areas, two bombings near religious buildings, three bombings in schools,
altogether 178 explosions and 36 assassinations have been executed by them
under the NUG.
According to the statement of
perpetrator Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo Zeyar Thaw, Phyu Phyu Thin, Naing Htoo Aung,
Win Myat Aye, Lwin Ko Latt collected funds in various ways and transfer them
via illegal ways to him. He spent those funds in purchasing weapons/ammunition,
explosives, unlicenced vehicles, renting safe houses for terrorists, bombings
and assassinations, rewards to terrorists depends on the success of the
mission, and some for his personal use.
It was revealed that under the
instruction of NUG, SOF incharge PK will commit “Pyan Hlwar Aung Mission”,
which aims to attack security forces, bombings in public areas and schools,
killing teachers and exploding COVID-19 check-points, and Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo
Zeyar Thaw was arrested while accelerating this mission.
According to his confession,
Commander Yan Naing and a colonel of the KNU/KNLA Brigade Area (6) provided
necessary consultation for the bombings and killings. On 31 October, terrorists
tried to use M-79 bomb launcher for the first time to shoot Hline police
station, however, it didn't work properly. Finally, after the instruction of
the KNU commander and the colonel, three shots were done. It was also revealed
that Yan Naing asked to contact to him in mentioning military activities in the
area (6).
In addition, the Hanthawady
military plan is being drawn up to perpetrate terrorist acts in Yangon, Bago
and Ayeyawady regions, and the plan also includes to ambush small security
outposts and loot weapons/ ammunition.
The following suspects were
arrested for committing terrorists acts under the instruction of Maung Kyaw (a)
Phyo Zeyar Thaw.
6 suspects including Nay Lin who were involved
in 10 bombings in Dagon Myothit Township were arrested with ammunition within
April and June.
8 suspects including Shwe Ye Nyunt
who involved in the assassination of an innocent civilian in Tamway Township on
8 June, were arrested with weapons and ammunition. - 13 suspects including Zaw
Htike (a) Zaw Thura from SRU terrorist group were arrested after returning back
from the terrorist training course in KNLA Brigade (6) on 10 June,
5 suspects including Khant Sithu
who were involved in the shooting to a security guard in front of the Myanma
Economic Bank in Tamway Township on 29 June were arrested with weapons and
ammunition. - Aung Myo Min who was involved in the shooting of one civilian in
Dagon Myothit (East) on 7 July, was arrested with weapons and ammunition.
35 suspects including Kyaw Zaw Hein
who were involved in robbing jewels from Shwe Nan Daw gold shop in Lanmadaw
Township on 8 July were arrested with weapons and ammunition.
Five including Kaung Pyisone Oo who
were involved in shooting incident by shotguns to police members onboard the
circular train.
31 suspects including Nyi Nyi Tun who were
involved in the killing of an innocent civilian on 17 August were arrested with
weapons and ammunition.
16 suspects including Hein Kyaw Lwin who were
involved in the explosion of homemade mine under the bridge and Thunanda
traffic lights in North Okkalapa Township on 6 and 7 September were arrested
with weapons and ammunition and stimulant tablets.
11 suspects including Aung Nyein Chan who were
involved in the attack to patrolling security forces in Sangyoung Township on 9
September were arrested with weapons and ammunition. - 12 suspects including
Zin Min Tun who were involved in the shooting to security forces on the bridge
in North Okkalapa Township on 10 September were arrested with weapons and
ammunition. - 9 suspects including Hein Htet Aung (a) Zan Ye who were involved
in the killing of U Naing Lin in Dagon Myothit (North) Township on 13 September
were arrested. - 7 suspects including Win Ko Oo (a) Thura Lwin (a) Wai Gyi who
were involved in the killing of an innocent civilian near King tea shop in
Kamayut Township on 18 September were arrested with weapons and ammunition. -
18 suspects including Zwe Wai Yan Htet (a) Edison from Hlegu PDF group who were
involved in the killing of an innocent civilian near Thiri Myaing train station
in Hline Township on 20 October were arrested with weapons and ammunition. - 13
suspects from STF terrorist group including Han Win Htut who were involved in
the bank robbery of KBZ bank in Botahtaung Township on 22 October were arrested
with weapons and ammunition and the cash. - 14 suspects including Saw Bel Zin
Htoo who were involved in the shooting to security forces at Bargayar traffic
lights in Kyimyindine Township on 23 October were arrested with weapons and
ammunition. - 11 suspects including Aung Kaung San who were involved in the
bombing in Insein Township on 23 October were arrested with weapons and
ammunition.
23 suspects from 44 st UG terrorist group
including Min Hein Khant who were involved in killing of an innocent civilian
in Pazundaung Township on 26 October, bombings to schools, and in public places
were arrested with weapons and ammunition.
Four suspects including Sitt Zaw Kan (a) Han
Thar Tun from SRU group who were involved in the assassination of Mytel GM U
Thein Aung in Mayangon Township on 4 November were arrested.
7 suspects including Than Naing (a) BaeOo who
were involved in the small armed attack to the township administration office
in Mingaladon Township on 7 November were arrested with weapons and ammunition.
4 suspects including Shan Satt (a)
Steven from Octopus terrorist groups who committed terrorist acts in Hline
Township on 9 November were arrested with homemade mines.
11 suspects including Myat Thu (a) Nat Soe who
were involved in the bombing near the administration office in Dagon Myothit
(South) on 14 November were arrested.
13 suspects including Aung Ko Oo and Yan Naing
Tun who attacked the security forces in Thakayta Township on 15 November were
arrested with weapons and ammunition.
According to the statements of the
arrested suspects, they didn’t want to do such things because of the racism of
the KNU forces during the training, poor living conditions in the camp and that
the people do not want violence. However, they were threatened to perpetrate
terrorist acts with the fact that they registered their family backgrounds
while being trained in the KNU area.
A total of 293 terrorists (247 men and 46
women), including NLD party member Maung Kyaw (a) Phyo Zeyar Thaw, have been
arrested together with 169 weapons, 231 homemade guns, 6 blowpipes, 312
magazines, 18,819 rounds of ammunition, 43 40- mm bombs, 16 mines, 48 grenades,
1,099 homemade mine, 175 homemade blowpipes, 61 smoke bombs, 5 visses of
gunpowder, 28 strong, 11 weak, 43 bags of homemade gunpowder, 896 detonators, 4
detonator, 163 rounds of TNT ammunition, 9 rounds of C4 (1.25) pounds, 14
transistors, 20 keypad phones, 16 walkie-talkies, 5 radios, 2 binoculars, 16
satellite phones, 2 laptops, 1 hard disk, ATM cards, 1 passport, lists of
places to be exploded, lists of people to be killed, stimulant tablets and
other related items.
In addition, apartments and houses
involved in the violence will be held as witnesses under the Anti-Terrorism Law
and will be confiscated. The landlords who rent them out to accommodate the
members of the terrorist PDF group will continue to be prosecuted under the
existing law.
The people are requested to report
any movement of terrorist groups to the relevant authority secretly and they
will be rewarded, and to work together for peace and stability in the towns and
villages as soon as possible.
