Union Minister inspects Thilawa Special Economic Zone

 
THE Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Thaung Tun and MIC members visited Thilawa Special Economic Zone in Thanlyin Township this morning.
The Union Minister and party were welcomed by the Chairman of Thilawa Special Economic Zone and Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Set Aung, CEO/ President of Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited (MJTD), Mr. Tomoyasu Shimizu and Chairman U Win Aung, representatives from the Japanese Embassy and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Chairman of Thilawa Special Economic Zone, U Set Aung briefed the Union Minister and party on the implementation of Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
The Union Minister commended the Chairman of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and the management for the success of the venture particularly with regard to the quality of services delivered by the One Stop Service Center (OSSC) in the economic zone.
The Union Minister expressed his confidence that the Thilawa Special Economic Zone would attract further interest of potential investors in the years ahead.
He reiterated that the present time was the best time for investors to do business in Myanmar. The Union Minister and party inspected the One Stop Service Centre and commended the staff for their exemplary work.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and party toured the economic zone and visited two production sites, Foster Electric, a hundred percent Japanese owned company producing Speakers and the Yangon Can Manufacturing, a Myanmar-Japan Joint-Venture producing steel cans.
