AN
opening ceremony of the English Language Training for Government Officials was
conducted yesterday morning in the meeting hall of the Union Civil Service
Board, Nay Pyi Taw, where member of the Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) U Saw Valentine
attended the ceremony, and delivered an opening speech.
The
English Language Proficiency Course for Government Officials was jointly
conducted by the UCSB and the Victoria University in New Zealand.
At
the ceremony, New Zealand’s Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Steve Marshall extended
his greetings and posed for documentary photographs together with the trainees.
The
training course comprises the subjects relating to strategies for the reforms
of the government employees, definition of good governance and its appliances,
transparency, responsibility, accountability, integrity, leadership skills,
equality, people-centered leadership, work productivity, gaining people’s trust
and e-government. The training course put emphasis on vocabulary enrichment and
improving spoken English fluency and writing meeting minutes, with the use of
modern teaching techniques for the trainees.
The
first session of the course will be conducted from 21 January to 28 February,
the second session from 6 May to 11 July, and the third session from 9
September to 14 November.
