Ceremony held to mark Japanese Emperor’s birthday




The Union Minister for State Counsellor’s Office, U Kyaw Tint Swe, and his wife, Daw May Yin Tun, attended a ceremony to mark the Japanese Emperor’s birthday at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar yesterday evening.

The ceremony, held at No. 80, Natmauk Road, Bahan Township, Yangon, commenced with the playing of the national anthems of Myanmar and Japan.
Afterwards, the Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Ichiro Maruyama, and Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe delivered speeches. The ceremony was followed by a dinner.
The ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Information, Dr. Pe Myint, and his wife, the Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun, Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein from the Commander-in-Chief’s (Army) Office, the Yangon Command commander, Maj-Gen Thet Pone, ambassadors, and charge d’affaires of foreign embassies in Yangon, resident representatives from the United Nations and invited guests.
