Myanmar hosts IBSF meeting in Yangon


MYANMAR hosted the annual general meeting of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) in Yangon yesterday.

“The International Billiards and Snooker Championship 2018 enabled Myanmar to study the records of global billiards and snooker players and broaden the scope of its own players,” said Union Minister for Health and Sports, Dr. Myint Htwe, at the meeting.
“The meeting will present a wide array of subjects that will benefit the billiards and snooker games of countries around the world. Presidents of the federations of the respective countries will share their experiences and suggestions with their Myanmar counterparts.
The meeting will serve as a venue where players, federations, and presidents make contacts for further progress of billiards and snooker,” he said. He then promised the ministry’s assistance for the development of billiards and snooker in Myanmar.
The President of IBSF, Mr. Mubarak Hamad MS Al-Khayarin, Vice President Mr. Joseph James Leacy, the President of the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) Mr. Mohamed Salem AS Al-Nuaimi, federation presidents of Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, China, Chinese Hong Kong, Denmark, Germany, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Ireland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Syria, Turkey, UAE, Viet Nam, Wales, and host Myanmar took part in the discussions.
