Fake Ks10,000 notes seized from Singaporean couple in Yangon

FORTY-five counterfeit notes in the denomination of 10,000 kyats were seized from a Singaporean couple at the Shwedagon Pagoda on 28 November, stated the Myanmar Police Force on 28 November

The counterfeit notes were discovered when Mr. Lin Bee Fun, 40, and Mrs. Chin Kuo Kuang, 43, paid the entrance fee at the counter on the southern stairway of the pagoda on 28 November.
Police noticed three fake notes and conducted a search during which they found the remaining notes.
During interrogation, the couple said they received the kyats from two Indians at the Arcade money exchange counter at the Coller Quay of the Changi Airport in exchange for 400 Singapore dollars on 27 November.
The couple arrived at Yangon by air the same day.
The police have lodged a case against them for using counterfeit money.
