Submission Deadline for ASEAN Prize extended



SUBMISSIONS for ASEAN Prize are extended until 3-10- 2018 instead of 27-9-2018. The ASEAN Secretariat is calling for nominations for the first ASEAN Prize, which aims to recognize inspiring achievements and contributions of an individual or organization that foster the ASEAN identity, pro-mote the ASEAN spirit, and champion the ASEAN way in designated focus areas such as;


(a) collaboration between ASEAN Member States;
(b) collaboration between ASEAN and the world;
(c) people-to-people engagement among ASEAN Member States;
(d) economic integration and promotion of standards between Member States, or
(e) outstanding contributions towards ASEAN Community Building

A judging committee, consisting of incumbent and past Secretaries-General of ASEAN, will select the eventual winner, who will be awarded a cash prize of US$20,000. The inaugural prize will be presented at the ASEAN Leaders Summit in November 2018.

To be eligible, the nominee must be a citizen or an organization in any ASEAN Member States. The nominee need to elaborate within three to five pages in English high-lighting the verifiable achievements that the nominee has contributed to the building of a rule-based, people-oriented, people-centered ASEAN Community, and intra-ASEAN collaborative efforts, for the period of April 2017 to March 2018. The nominee should also share their future plans in continuing the work after winning the prize.
