A
delegation led by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe attended 7th
Bali Process Ministerial Conference and a ministerial-level forum between
governments and economists at Bali International Convention Centre in Bali,
Indonesia on 7 August.
The
conference and forum were attended by Ministers from 45 member countries and
senior officials from UNHCR, UNDP and IOM and Indonesian Minister for Foreign
Affairs Mrs. Retno Marsudi and Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mrs.
Julie Bishop acted as chairpersons.
At
the discussion, the Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe focused on efforts of
combating of human trafficking, cooperation processes between Myanmar and other
countries and repatriation processes in Rakhine.
A
senior official meeting related with the Conference and Forum was also held at
the same place from 9am to 3:30pm on 6 August and Myanmar representatives led
by Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo and he also added
Myanmar cooperation processes in combating the human trafficking processes.
During
his visit, the Union Minister also met separately with Indonesian Minister for
Foreign Affairs Mrs. Retno Marsudi, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs,
Mrs. Julie Bishop and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees-UNHCR Mr.
Filippo Grandi and discussed the true situation regarding to the displaced
people in Rakhine State, increasing of complexity due to the accusation and
pressure of the international community and commitment to resolving the
situation in the positive ways.
The
Union Minister and party arrived back at Yangon International Airport yesterday
4pm and welcomed by Secretary of Yangon Region government and officials from
the Ministry of Home Affairs.
