18th Myanmar Mining Summit held in Nay Pyi Taw




Under the supervision of the Department of Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and UNICEF, the 18th Myanmar Mining Summit was held at Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


During the meeting, Director-General U Win Naing Tun from the Department of Rehabilitation said that the working committee of the Mining Education team was formed in 2012 and the 18th Myanmar Mining Summit is aimed to prevent from the dangers of mining explosions.

He also said that as part of the efforts of the peace processes, educating, giving information and conducting the courses for prevention of the dangers of the explosion of mines are being undertaken by the officials as mining explosions can cause severe loss to the lives of the public along with productivity in State.

He also urged that educating is also a humanitarian matter and should be considered in all aspects by understanding the value of each and every citizen to lead an all-round development of the democracy nation.

Also present at the meeting were officials from relevant ministries, UNICEF, INGOs, NGOs and the meeting continued with presenting cash to mine-hit people followed by explaining the future agendas of the committee’s tasks.
