Union Minister U Thaung Tun attends IX International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters

UNION Minister for the Office of the Union Government U Thaung Tun led a Myanmar delegation comprising Deputy Minister forHome Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe and other officials to attend the IX International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters in Sochi, Russia, from 24 to 26 April.

At the meeting, the high-ranking officials discussed matters related to global instability, the responses to the changing strategies of international terrorist organisations, challenges to information security and the eradication of the drug trade that is threatening global peace and stability.

The Myanmar Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and the Russian Federation Deputy Head of the Federal Security Service signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate over anti-terrorist operations.
