A
delegation led by U Win Myint, President of the Republic of the Union of
Myanmar, arrived in Singapore yesterday at 4:30 pm Local Standard Time to
attend the 32nd ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
The
delegation led by President U Win Myint was welcomed at the Changi
International Airport by Mr. Heng Chee, the Senior Minister of State in the
Prime Minister’s Office, Myanmar Ambassador to Singapore U Htay Aung and wife,
Military Attache Col Win Myat and wife, Myanmar Embassy officials and other
officials.
From
the airport, the President and party proceeded to Shangri La Hotel for a brief
rest.
Afterwards,
the President visited the Embassy of Myanmar in Singapore and met with embassy
staff and their families. The President enquired about the education, health
and work status of the embassy staff and family members, after which he
presented gifts.
Later
in the evening, the President attended a dinner hosted by the Myanmar
Ambassador to Singapore.
