Pope Francis leaves Yangon

Pope Francis, who was in Myanmar for a four-day visit, left yesterday afternoon for Dhaka, Bangladesh, on a special aircraft.


The Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, region ministers, the Myanmar Ambassador to Vatican City State U San Lwin, Bangkok-based Myanmar Ambassador to Vatican City State Sayadaw Paul Chan An Nam, Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Strategic Studies and Training Department Director-General Daw Kay Thi Soe, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar(CBCM) His Eminence Cardinal Archbishop Charles Bo, His Excellency Auxiliary Bishop John Saw Yaw Han, and CMBM’s president bishop Felix Lian Khen Thang saw off Pope Francis at Yangon International Airport.

Before leaving, Pope Francis prayed yesterday morning together with Christian youths at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Church located at Bogyoke Aung San Road and Bo Aung Kyaw Road.
