A
mine exploded on a hillside beside Namkham-Muse Union Road between mile posts
296/3 and 296/4 near the Oriental toll gate at the entrance to Naungkhan
village, Namkham Township in northern Shan State on Wednesday.
The
mine was planted by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), according to
military sources. There were no immediate reports of casualties, injuries or
damages. Security forces are still conducting area clearance operation nearby.
