KIA/TNLA stronghold captured

While Tamadaw columns were conducting area clearance operations in northeast Shan State, they clashed with the combined troops of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) 16 miles north of Namtu Township at about 7:30 am on Tuesday.

The Tamadaw columns were attacked by KIA and TNLA combined troops numbering 140. The Tamadaw fought back with the support of air raid. The combined insurgent troops retreated to the north at about 5:30 pm. One soldier from the Tamadaw was killed in the clash and several were injured. The Tamadaw was able to occupy the stronghold of the KIA/TNLA armed groups.
