About
30 members of KIA attacked government troops conducting an area clearance
operations near Nampoun Village in Mongko Township, in north-eastern Shan State
yesterday.
The
armed group withdrew as the government troops returned fire. The troops
discovered a mine planted by the KIA members at a site where the fighting
happened and deactivated it.
Government
troops are carrying out area clearance operations in the area.
