Treating the fight against online fraud and online gambling as a matter of national duty, the Government is systematically carrying out the complete demolition of illegal structures in the Shwe Kokko area to prevent them from ever being used again for illicit scam and gambling operations.
As part of these operations targeting
the remaining illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko Phase II, heavy machinery has been
deployed to dismantle key structures. The demolition of one five-story building
has reached 90 per cent completion to date, while the demolition of another
five-story building is currently 15 per cent complete.
Out of 63 targeted structures in Shwe Kokko Phase II, authorities have
categorized the demolition methods based on building type and surrounding
conditions: 25 buildings are slated for mechanical demolition with heavy
machinery, four buildings for controlled implosion, and 34 buildings for manual,
floor-by-floor dismantling due to their proximity to residential homes. Thus
far, all four buildings designated for controlled implosion and one building
designated for mechanical teardown have been fully demolished. The systematic
demolition of the remaining 58 buildings will continue moving forward.
Recognizing online fraud and online
gambling as serious threats to the global socioeconomic fabric and national
security, the Government remains committed to cracking down on these operations
in close coordination with neighbouring and regional countries to eradicate
them once and for all.
