Push to Transition from E-Government to Digital Governance

Vice-President U Nyo Saw, who chairs the e-Government Steering Committee, emphasized the importance of information security and cybersecurity measures during a coordination meeting of the committee held at the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

At the meeting, the Vice-President highlighted the need for more effective implementation of the e-government processes to facilitate the transition to a digital government across all government sectors. This initiative requires not only efforts from the government but also the development of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) frameworks that encourage cooperation and participation from the private sector and technology experts.

He stressed the importance of operating service provision through the Single Window and One-Stop Digital Services Platforms.

Additionally, the Vice-President called for the approval of the National Digital Development Strategy 2030 and the enactment of the Digital Development Law.

He urged all departments and organizations to coordinate their efforts harmoniously in establishing a digital government based on e-government, which should serve as a reliable application for the public.

Union Minister for Digital Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, who is also Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee, along with the secretary, reported on the progress of implementing the e-government process. Union ministers, who are also members of the steering committee, discussed efforts to successfully carry out the e-government initiative.
The Vice-President coordinated necessary measures during the discussions and delivered a concluding remark.

Present at the meeting were Union-level dignitaries, deputy ministers, the president of the Myanmar Computer Federation, departmental officials, and chief ministers of regions and states, who participated through videoconferencing.
