THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the progress of ongoing water purification plant and water tank construction projects in Pankan Village and Saikkwin 3 Village, Loikaw Township.

ongoing construction works. In Pankan Village, the project is being executed
with K60.710 million in state funds for the 2026- 2027 financial year,
including a water purification plant measuring 10 feet by 13 feet by 19 feet,
installation of purification equipment, and a 2,000-gallon brick water water
tank measuring 12 feet by six feet by five feet. In Saikkwin 3 Village, a water
purification plant measuring 10 feet by 13 feet by 19 feet and purification
equipment installation are underway with K56.500 million in state funds.
They
met representatives of the tender-winning company, urging them to complete the
project on schedule in line with prescribed standards, specifications and
quality assurance, while providing necessary coordination for issues raised by
residents.
