A total of 56 individuals involved in illegal online scam and gambling operations were arrested along with a large quantity of equipment during a security operation in Tachilek Township, Shan State (East), yesterday.
Acting
on a tip-off, the authorities arrested 56 suspects, comprising five Chinese
men, 25 Myanmar men and 26 Myanmar women, and seized 60 computers, five WIFI
devices, 14 tables, 51 chairs, two unlicensed vehicles, and other materials.
The
offenders will face action under the existing law after proper examination, and
the seized materials will be managed in accordance with the procedures.
