DEPUTY Minister for Finance and Revenue Daw Than Than Lin and her delegation attended the fifth Consultation on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Development Bank (SCOB) held in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, from 14 to 16 September.
The meeting was
co-chaired by Mr Min Liao, Deputy Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic
of China, and Mr Aslam Chaudhary, Minister of Commerce of the Embassy of
Pakistan in the People’s Republic of China.
At the meeting, the
Interim Secretariat reviewed the draft MoU on the Establishment of the Shanghai
Cooperation and Development Bank, the share allocation, voting rights and
decision-making procedures, the procedure for capital contribution to the bank,
as well as Mr Jingdong Hua, who served as Vice-President of the World Bank,
discussed the Concessional Window and the Future Work Plan on the financial
operations of international development banks and the practical implementation
of financial innovation by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
The attendees had a lively discussion.
The meeting was
attended by Deputy Ministers of Finance, Vice-Governors of Central Banks and
officials from 29 countries, including ASEAN member countries Cambodia, Laos,
Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The deputy minister and
her delegation departed from Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, on the
morning of 17 September and returned to Yangon in the evening.
