Sheet piling work underway to reinforce Ngawun embankment

SHEET piling work is underway at the Ngawun embankment in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, where river erosion caused a breach beneath the embankment, resulting in its subsidence and allowing river water to overflow.

Deputy Minister for Construction Dr Thaung Naing and officials inspected the reinforcement work yesterday morning. Officials reported on the embankment reinforcement, sheet piling, the arrival of necessary equipment and materials, and plans for the remaining work. The deputy minister coordinated the necessary measures.

A total of 286 steel sheet piles are required, of which 55 had been installed as of yesterday.
