President U Min Aung Hlaing arrives back from official visits to Russian Federation, Belarus

 

At the invitation of President Mr Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, and President Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, President U Min Aung Hlaing of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar paid official visits to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, respectively. Upon departing Kyzyl International Airport in the Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation at 11:30 am local standard time yesterday, the President of Myanmar was warmly seen off at the airport by the Head of the Tuva Republic Mr Vladislav Khovalyg, Deputy Chair of the State Duma Mr Kara-ool Sholban, officials from the regional government, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Myo Moe Aung, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, and other dignitaries.

The President was accompanied by Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, Dr Thet Khaing Win, U Ko Ko Lwin and Dr Charlie Than, Chief Executive Officer of Myanmar Space Agency Dr Soe Myint Maung, Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region U Zaw Naing Oo, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, and officials.

The President and party arrived back at Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening. They were welcomed back by Vice-Presidents U Nyo Saw and Nan Ni Ni Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, officials from the Russian Embassy and the Military Attaché Office.

During the official visits to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, the President of Myanmar held separate bilateral meetings with President Mr Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus. Discussions focused on enhancing friendship and cooperation between the governments and peoples of the respective nations, accelerating comprehensive strategic partnership cooperation, and further promoting collaboration across various sectors, including space science and technology, industry, agriculture and livestock breeding, trade and investment, education, health, culture, electric power and energy, and tourism.

Furthermore, sectoral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed and exchanged, and business forums were successfully convened to promote economic engagement with the respective nations. The trip proved highly beneficial to national development efforts, successfully advancing Myanmar’s strategic partnership ties with both the Russian Federation and Belarus.
