MYANMAR and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region discussed matters on expanding cooperation in economic and trade ties, education, cultural exchanges, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Consul-General Daw Khaing Su Linn from the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning met Mr Wei Ran, Director-General of the Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office, on 13 August at the Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office. The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral trade, fostering cultural exchange programmes, offering educational scholarships, and exploring joint initiatives in modern technology sectors including AI.
The two sides also emphasized arrangements for a Myanmar delegation to attend the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS), which will be held in Nanning in September 2026.
