A Tatmadaw delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence
Services General Ye Win Oo departed Nay Pyi Taw for Thailand yesterday to
attend the 9th Thailand-Myanmar High-Level Committee Meeting.
The delegation was seen off at Nay Pyi Taw Airport by Deputy Commander-in-Chief
of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin,
Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Win, senior Tatmadaw officers, the
Commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials from the Thai Military
Attaché’s Office in Myanmar. The delegation
also included General Ye Win Oo’s wife, Daw Nilar, and senior military officers
from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
Upon arriving by special military aircraft at Wing 6 of the Royal Thai Air
Force Base in Bangkok, the delegation was received by Deputy Chief of Defence
Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Air Chief Marshal Seksun Chaiyamart and
his wife, along with senior officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Also
present at the airport reception were Lt-Gen Kyaw Ko Htaik, members of the
Secretariat of the 9th Thailand-Myanmar High-Level Committee Meeting, Myanmar
Ambassador to Thailand U Zaw Zaw Soe, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Win
Thu Lin and other officials.
During the visit, General Ye Win Oo will attend the high-level meeting and hold
bilateral talks with senior Thai military leaders on matters related to
bilateral relations and cooperation.
In preparation for the high-level meeting, a secretariat delegation led by
Lt-Gen Kyaw Ko Htaik of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) arrived in
Thailand on 16 August to conduct preliminary coordination meetings.
