The time has come to develop the country

IT is necessary to ensure that areas which have fallen behind for various reasons do not experience development gaps. Some regions, although not remote or border areas, are still underdeveloped. Therefore, efforts must also be made to promote the development of these areas.

Lack of peace and stability cannot help carry out development undertakings. Due to the bitter legacy, areas where ethnic people reside without peace and stability lag in development. Hence, it is necessary to extend an invitation to ethnic groups to talk peace, while efforts must be made to emphasize development measures. Primarily, these regions should be facilitated with human resources which can help improve education, healthcare services, and the socioeconomic lives of the people.

It is necessary to further improve transport and communication systems beyond the current level. While the Union Government is working to ensure the availability of required human resources for education and healthcare, the respective regions and states should make efforts to do so. It is necessary to enhance the knowledge and improve the health of all people in ethnic areas. Local authorities should also promote production in their respective regions and ensure food sufficiency in terms of consumer goods.

Agriculture and livestock farming are matters of national importance. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the emergence of skilled professionals in the agriculture and livestock sectors in these regions. Ethnic students who have attended the University for Development of National Races of the Union and degree colleges should, upon completion of their studies, be able to take up relevant regional development responsibilities within their own areas.

For the 2026-2027 financial year, funds amounting to K1,397 billion have been allocated for seven border area development subcommittees, and K643.68 billion has also been approved for nine regional project committees. It is stated that project implementation will be successful only when activities across relevant sectors are carried out in a balanced manner in accordance with established standards. To achieve success, leaders of relevant areas, authorities, and all ethnic people must work together in cooperation.

When the country achieves nationwide peace and stability, development activities for all ethnic people across the country will be able to be implemented smoothly and rapidly, and the momentum of national progress will further accelerate. Therefore, the time has come to end and overcome conflicts and difficulties and work collectively towards building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation, where all people live in harmony and unity.
