A policy is set to conduct rehabilitation activities restoring the affected areas to conditions better than before, said Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong Hsun Thang at the coordination meeting on rehabilitation and reconstruction for Chin State held at the State government meeting hall yesterday morning.
He said that rehabilitation is a difficult and delicate process, and the government has already allocated funds for rehabilitation and reconstruction and will provide additional financial support where necessary. Therefore, all should work together in accordance with the adopted policy to rebuild the affected areas to a standard better than before.
The participants reported on ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction processes in Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang, collaboration work plans, formation of a working committee on rehabilitation and reconstruction for Chin State, arrivals of government staff and locals in Falam, Tiddim and Tonzang, reopening of schools and hospitals, acceptance, distribution of relief items, funds received and usage and other rehabilitation processes.
Based on the presentations, Planning, Economics and Finance Minister Dr Lyan Zakhote, Social Affairs Minister U Sein Tun Hla, Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Minister U PaO Zalan, Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Minister U Win Zaw Oo, State Advocate-General U Kat Talun and working committee secretary U Kyaw Zaw Lin coordinated the discussion.
