A China-ASEAN digital education community will be established to create better learning opportunities for the younger generation and enhance education and skills development, Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint said.
He
made the remarks while delivering an opening address at the opening ceremony of
the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, held in Guiyang, Guizhou
Province, China, under the theme “Building a Friendly Regional Community through
Smart Technology-based Education”.
Following
the opening ceremony, the deputy minister joined education ministers and deputy
ministers from China and ASEAN member states in launching the China-ASEAN Smart
Education Quality Enhancement Programme. He also attended the China-ASEAN
Education Ministers’ Dialogue, chaired by Chinese Vice-Minister of Education Mr
Ren Youqun.
In
the afternoon, he participated in a forum on “Integrating Industry and
Education in the Era of Digital and Artificial Intelligence Transformation”.
The
2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was attended by education ministers
and deputy ministers from China and ASEAN countries, as well as senior
officials from Guizhou Province.
