Myanmar-China society hosts red cross branch opening, future-sharing ceremony

 

The opening ceremony of the new Red Cross branch office was held yesterday morning at the branch office in Thakayta Township, Botahtaung District, Yangon Region.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, the region Hluttaw Speaker, and officials first cut the ceremonial ribbon to unveil the new branch office. Members of the Thakayta Township Red Cross Brigade then performed a Red Cross song to mark the occasion. The chief minister delivered the opening address, and the MRCS President delivered a vote of thanks.
Afterwards, the chairman of the Chiji Foundation and the president of the Myanmar Red Cross Society formally handed over the new branch office building to the Chairman of the Thakayta Township Red Cross Branch. The chief minister then presented certificates of appreciation to donors who contributed materials for the construction of the Red Cross branch office building in Yangon.

The chief minister later attended and delivered a speech at the “Sharing the Building of a Myanmar-China Community with a Shared Future” event, jointly organized by Chinese and Myanmar organizations at the Myawady Media Centre on Moegaung Road in Yangon.

Ms Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, also delivered a speech, after which the event proceeded according to its agenda.
