THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that 29 types of unregistered cosmetics made in Thailand, India, the Philippines and South Korea were found to contain hazardous substances and chemicals that are harmful to health and proven unsafe to use.
Under the guidance of
the Ministry of Health, the FDA has been monitoring the market systematically
to ensure the quality of cosmetics that are considered safe for use.
Additionally, as per the ASEAN Post-Marketing Alert System (PMAS) Report, 29
types of cosmetics were found unregistered and were identified as harmful by
some regional states (Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines
and Thailand) due to harmful and prohibited chemicals that pose health risks.
Therefore, the FDA warns the public of these unsafe cosmetics.

Hair dyeing herb powder dark brown, Indeko herbal Indigo hair colour,
Chanmaneenart organic Bhringraj, Barbie Pink, White Plus booster aura body
cream and BeQuaLa moisturizer and whitening cream.
Those prohibited
chemicals can cause skin irritation, swelling, rash, numbness, muscle cramps,
fatigue, headaches, dizziness and depression. Prolonged exposure can also lead
to kidney failure and other chronic diseases.
Thus, cosmetic
importing companies, distributors, wholesalers and retailers should not
ethically distribute unregistered cosmetics that are declared unsafe for use.
The relevant authorities will take legal action against them under Paragraph 3
(D) of Section 3, of the Public Health Law for non-compliance.
