The commissioning event for the female graduate cadets of the 12th Intake underway yesterday in Hmawby.
The commissioning ceremony for the
12th Intake of female graduate cadets of the Defence Services (Army) Officer
Training School (Hmawby) was held yesterday at the school’s Myawady Hall.
The ceremony was attended by
Military Appointment-General Lt-Gen Htein Win of the Office of the
Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the
Commander-in-Chief, Acting commandant Colonel Thet Swe Nyein of the OTS
(Hmawby), and the graduating cadets.
Military Appointment- General
Lt-Gen Htein Win, together with senior Tatmadaw officers and the acting
commandant, took their seats on the stage. Lt-Gen Htein Win presented
certificates of commissioning to the graduating cadets, delivered the
convocation speech, and concluded the event.
The ceremony formally appointed the
female graduates from the course to the rank of second lieutenant. The female
cadet training programme was launched in 2014 to produce qualified staff
officers for the Tatmadaw, and female graduates who complete the training are
required to serve in the relevant Army, Navy, or Air Force corps.
