NDSC Executive Chief extends food support to Tatmadaw personnel

A ceremony to provide food and beverages to members of the armed forces serving national defense and security duties was held yesterday morning at the Rakhine State Government Guest House, attended by U Aung Lin Dwe, Executive Chief of the National Defence and Security Council Office.

The ceremony was attended by Union ministers, members of the Central Advisory Body of the National Defence and Security Council, the State Chief Minister, Lt-Gen Naing Naing Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Commander of the Western Command, members of the state government, officials from Sittwe Station, the Commander of No 4 Police Command, the Commander of the State Police Force, and other officials.

Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe first acknowledged all the security forces who are performing their duties with great energy to maintain peace and stability in Rakhine State and the rule of law. He also acknowledged the forces’ dedication and spirit toward the country and called on them to work harder than ever before, in accordance with enacted laws, to prevent the loss of lives and property based on their pure dedication and spirit.

The Executive Chief then presented food and beverages to the troops serving the defence and security duties of the country. He and his team also visited the Lawkananda Pagoda, where they offered flowers, water, and oil lamps and donated funds for the renovation of the pagoda.

Next, the officials inspected the completed construction of two steel-structure glass halls, measuring 27 feet 11 inches in length, 21 feet 9 inches in width, and 15 feet in height, built for the Maravijaya and Abhyarajamuni Buddha images. The halls were constructed to facilitate peaceful homage by the public and to protect the images, which are enshrined in the courtyard of the Lokananda Pagoda, from saltwater damage and natural disasters. They then paid homage to the two Buddha images and inspected the completed marble slab paving in the pagoda courtyard.

Afterwards, the Executive Chief and his team visited the construction site of the 1,580-foot-long dirt road leading to Sittway Airport from in front of Alotawpyae Monastery, where officials explained the progress of the work, after which he gave the necessary instructions and inspected the road by driving along it in vehicles.
