Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with film producers and entrepreneurs yesterday afternoon at the Film Promotion Division of the Information and Public Relations Department in Bahan Township, Yangon, to discuss the development of the film industry.
First, the Union minister discussed the current conditions
for film releases and the need for increased production. He emphasized the
importance of coordination and cooperation among the Myanmar Motion Pictures
Organization (MMPO), film producers, and cinema owners to establish a screening
system that is convenient for everyone, while also highlighting the State
government’s efforts to develop the film industry.
MMPO Chairman U Kyi Soe Tun, film producers, and officials
discussed the challenges in film screening and various aspects of film industry
development, with the Union minister facilitating the discussions.
Yesterday morning, the Union minister, together with MMPO
Chairman U Kyi Soe Tun, met with entrepreneurs who submitted expressions of
interest for the “Movie City Project” in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, to
discuss prioritizing art-based initiatives in the project’s implementation and
adhering to established rules and regulations.
