UCT Chair joins AACC meeting, Public Lecture

 

Chairman U Aung Zaw Thein of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union virtually attended the meeting of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC) and the Public Lecture event hosted by Thailand online.

The Public Lecture was organized yesterday under the topic of “The Courts and the Protection of Human Rights” , and the representatives discussed the role of constitutional courts in protecting human rights, challenges in courts and other cases.

At noon, the meeting of AACC continued, and Chairman of Thai Constitutional Court presented the reviews on the activities conducted during its term, the Permanent Secretary-General Offices of AACC such as AACC-SPC of Indonesia, AACC-SRD of Korea and AACC-CTHRD of Turkey submitted their progress reports, transferred the chairmanship to Uzbekistan, and discussed the application of Iraq Federal Supreme Court to be member of AACC.
