THE Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) donated a total of K250 million to religious buildings in Mandalay and Sagaing Regions that were damaged by the recent major earthquake, according to the society’s headquarters.
The donation was intended to support
the repair and reconstruction of religious buildings affected by the
earthquake. In Sagaing Region, K50 million was donated to the Shwe Hintha
Taikthit Monastery in Sagaing, K50 million to the Ratana Theingi (Charity)
Nunnery, K25 million to the Christian community, and another K25 million to the
Thirithasana Ranyan Hindu Temple in Sagaing.
Similarly, in Mandalay Region, K10
million was donated to the Cathedral Church in Aungmyaythazan Township, K15
million to Saint Joseph and Saint Anna Catholic Churches in Singaing Township’s
Myaukkaing Village, K25 million to the East Bone Oue Mosque in Bone Oue
Village, Amarapura Township, K25 million to the Islamic Zarokia Religious
School, and K25 million to the Ambika Mata Hindu Temple in Aungmyaythazan
Township, making a total contribution of exactly K250 million.
