UNION Minister for Construction U Myo Thant received the Ambassador of India to Myanmar, Mr Abhay Thakur, in the reception hall of the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw at 2 pm yesterday.
During the meeting, both sides held
cordial and open discussions on ongoing collaborative efforts to develop the
transport sector under the friendly relations between Myanmar and India. They exchanged
views on the enhancement of border trade and smoother flow of goods to boost
the socioeconomic development of local communities, as well as the advancement
of tourism.
They also discussed topics related to
road and bridge upgrades carried out with India’s grant aid, which are
considered vital for regional development. In addition, they explored the
potential of road infrastructure projects that would improve links between the
two countries and serve mutual interests.
