Myanmar Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Protected Eco-Origin Product (PEOP) Certification for Promoting Sustainable Development in International Trade in the ASEAN-China Area, held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre on 25 September, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event took place under the framework
of the 21st ASEAN-China Expo in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
In his speech, U Tin Maung Swe emphasized
the significance of the seminar in deepening cooperation in sustainable
development to promote eco-friendly products that feature characteristics of
origin, aligning with green, low-carbon, energy-saving, and circular economy
requirements. Furthermore, the seminar aims to enhance the protection of
eco-origin products, which not only possess specific characteristics and high
quality derived from their origins but also meet strategic production and
processing requirements without harming the environment.
He further stated that investment in green
technologies, eco-friendly systems, and carbon reduction innovations will help
conserve the environment. He also invited foreign investors to participate in
green development initiatives in Myanmar.
The opening ceremony was attended by
prominent figures, including the Member of the Party Committee, the Chairman of
the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CCPCC), the Secretary
of the Party Group of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Deputy Secretary
General of the 13th National Committee of the CCPCC, the Secretary General of
the ASEAN-China Centre, ministerial-level leaders, government representatives
from China and ASEAN, economists, industry experts, entrepreneurs, and other
stakeholders, totalling around 200 guests.
