THE combined teams under the supervision of the Bago Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force conducted inspections on 7 and 8 November and nabbed a Nissan Condor vehicle (estimated value of K15 million), headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying three kinds of goods worth K7,077,600 including 2,190 kilogrammes of Smart softeners that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) near Shwe Thanlwin Tollage in Phayagyi and two Nissan Diesel truck (approximately K40 million), travelling from Thaton to Yangon, carrying three kinds of goods worth K7.1 million including 24 sets of 32-inch Recond TV without official documents at the Nyaungkhashay X-Ray station. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
An on-duty
team impounded a MAN tractor head with a trailer (approximately K66 million),
headed to Mandalay from Yangon, carrying four kinds of goods worth K21.09
million including 1,020 kilogrammes of motorbike seat cover that were not
declared in the ID near Myitnge bridge on Yangon-Mandalay Highway on 8
November. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On 9
November, the combined teams captured two kinds of goods worth K6.3 million 120
bottles of Two Shrimps palm oil (five litres) and 6,000 boxes of Lactasoy soy
milk at a warehouse in Myeik township, and a Nissan diesel truck (approximately
K25 million), headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying seven kinds of goods
worth K7.128 million including 630 kilogrammes of Oriental Style instant noodle
that exceeded the ID near Kamawkasin village in Hpa-an township. The action was
taken under Customs procedures.
On the same
day, the on-duty teams under the supervision of the Customs Department
confiscated 53,140 kilogrammes of tube valves (car parts) without Import
Licence from two containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port and two vehicles,
headed to Theinzayet from Kyaikto and to Bago from Thaton, carrying 122
jerrycans of Prawn Hornet palm oil (18 litres) without official documents at
the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs
procedures. A total of 19 arrests were made on three consecutive days from 7 to
9 November, with an estimated value of K313,911,400, as reported by the Illegal
Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
