UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the broadcasting programmes, studios, newsrooms and national symphony orchestra at MRTV (Myanma Radio and Television) on Pyay Road of Yangon yesterday.
The
Union Minister first met the MRTV staff officers. At the meeting, he
highlighted the department role that dutifully serves its historical
responsibilities and holds the motto: to inform, educate and entertain the
public for the State amid changing political landscapes of the country.
He
also said the ministry is working hard via the media sector in implementing the
fivepoint roadmap and nine objectives of SAC. It cannot be applied to the
traditional ways. It should also adopt modern and creative innovations based on
the traditions, opinions and standards of Myanmar people, including the
developing techniques.
In
the 21st century, the media and television broadcasting industries are
constantly innovating based on digital technologies, and the MRTV reaches its
diamond jubilee.
He
then excerpted some words of the Prime Minister of the State made at the 45th
anniversary of the diamond jubilee of MRTV, “MRTV could not only inform,
educate and entertain but also to motivate the people. As the fourth estate,
the media industry plays an important role, so it must act correctly. It should
be a reliable MRTV eternally for the country and people.”
The
Union Minister continued that cooperation works are required in media like
broadcasting programmes that can create a peaceful community lack of any hate
or anxiety. Such doings the public can have the correct knowledge and thoughts,
and it can benefit the government and interests of the country.
He
also urged the staff to cooperate with the ministry in easing the difficulties
of people from various media sectors during the outbreak of COVID-19.
Then,
MRTV Director-General U Ye Naing reported on the work programmes of the
station. The Union Minister inspected the practice section of the national
symphony orchestra and modern music bands, storage of records and broadcasting
programmes.
The
Union Minister also held a meeting with the executive members and veteran
musicians of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) at noon and discussed
COVID-19 vaccination programmes for the artistes. He presided over another
meeting with the officials of FM radio station that jointly broadcasts with
MRTV in the evening.
