UEC, Facebook discuss collaboration ahead of polls

Union Election Commission Chairman U Hla Thein yesterday received a delegation from Facebook, led by its Director of Public Policy for Southeast Asia Mr Rafael Frankel, at the UEC office in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the meeting, they discussed collaboration on civic education and voter education, programme for curbing fake news and hate speech related to the generation elections, and current efforts for releasing factual information and electoral news.

Members of the UEC were also present at the meeting.
