Private donors hand over new school building in Pakokku


A family of well-wishers donated a new school building, desks and chairs, amounted to K150 million in total, at Nyaungbin village tract in Pakokku Township, Magway Region. Two-storey RC Danubyu School Building with 100-ft length and 30-ft width, along with other facilities, were donated by the family of U Kyaw Sithu and wife Daw Mya Thida.

Magway Region Chief Minister Dr Aung Moe Nyo, his cabinet members, Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Pike Ko, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Mya Min Swe, Director General of Department of Basic Education U Ko Lay Win and the donor family cut the ceremonial ribbon to launch the handover ceremony at the Basic High School (Sub) of that village.
Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi, Magway Region Chief Minister Dr Aung Moe Nyo and officials opened the curtain of new school signboard and sprayed with scented water on the plaque of the new school.
After making a commemorative speech of the Chief Minister, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi said the budget for Ministry of Education in 2019-2020 fiscal year has increased 10 times compared to that of 2011-2012.
The Ministry has planned to appoint more teachers at 4,392 schools, with a total number of 755,483 students in Magway Region. More school buildings will also be constructed, and the school furniture, including class-room tables, will also be provided.
Then, Dr. Khin Maung Aye, the Minister for Social Affairs of Magway Region, expressed thanks. U Kyaw Sithu explained about the donation and presented documents of the school to the ministry.
